Encanto – at KU!
Musical Theater Summer Camp
with Kevin Johnson
June 20-24th (ages 7-17) from 9am-4pm
Encanto – at KU!” Award winning actor/director/producer Kevin Johnson(Arizona Onstage Productions, the home of Tucson hit shows like Les Misérables, Mamma Mia! and The Producers) once again leads a one week intensive all hands-on deck musical theater camp exploring the world of La Familia Madrigal this summer! Act, sing and dance along to songs from the hit movie Encanto!
This energy-filled camp will focus on stage presence, projection, movement, and acting and singing skills. We will also have fun games based on comedy improvisation. Get ready to laugh and have a blast!
All crafts and games will reflect the world of “Encanto” Of course we will have a fabulous, costumed performance on the last day. Snacks provided (bring your own lunch)

June 27-July 1st (ages 3-7) from 9am-12pm
We will immerse ourselves in the “Frozen” world of Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf, Sven, and all of the residents of this wonderful world (so loved by our little ones) Stories, singing, dancing, and dress up are on the agenda for this trip into the land of the award winning “Frozen 1 and 2. Crafts, games and snacks will be a chilly reminder we are in Arendelle!

Skill building for
Acting, Singing, Dancing. & Audition prep,
June 27th – July 1st (ages 8-17) from 1pm-4pm
Artist Skill Building (Audition Prep Camp) -This camp we will be guiding our campers on how to navigate through all the tools and skills you need to be successful for auditions. We will workshop what casting notices are, break down what they are looking for in contrasting vocal selections, how to approach monologues and grow more comfortable with quick dance combinations. By the end of this camp students will have more confidence walking into an audition whether it be in front of peers at our studio, at school, or out in the community. Snacks provided!

Contemporary Broadway Workshop
July 11th-15th 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Open to Ages 8-17
Contemporary Broadway Workshop -Broadway is ever changing as are the people creating and enjoying this media. Our camp will be a week of taking in Broadway musicals that have changed the course of Broadway and who we have seen on stage from the past 15 years. The music of Wicked, Legally Blonde, 13, and more have been close to the hearts of multiple generations of performers in KU. We will be showcasing scenes and musical numbers from these shows in a small showcase at the end of the week! We can’t wait to take the opportunity to dive deeper into the current generation of musical theater! We will have several guest teachers throughout the week. Snacks provided (bring your own lunch)
